Wheaties bookmarks for June 5th
Good reading for June 5th:
- Passwords + Pictures = Security? - Kiplinger.com - “When researchers at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology studied the anti-fraud image system used by Bank of America, they found that 58 out of 60 users still logged on to a phony Web site that did not display the images that the users had selected.”
- Stop Panicking; Start Calculating - Motley Fool - Excellent article on saving from The Motley Fool.
- ‘Piggybacking’ roils credit industry - Yahoo! News - This practice is interesting, but obviously I don’t recommend it. Tying your own credit to someone else’s is also risky, and this is just deceptive.
- 10 Ways to Reduce Child Care Costs - News & Analysis - Insight & Advice - Good article from TheStreet.com.
- What steakhouses reveal about the weakness of the U.S. economy. - By Daniel Gross - Slate Magazine - I buy this about as much as I buy astrology (not at all), but it’s an interesting article for understanding how analysts think.
- Indicators when credit card debt is too high - Bankrate.com scores again with this worthwhile piece (via Consumerist).
- Should You Buy the iPhone? (Deal of the Day: Personal Finance) | SmartMoney.com - Good article for those lusting after the iPhone to read. “AT&T/Cingular … allow[s] penalty-free phone returns and service cancellation within 30 days.”
